Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla says their family will let justice run its course in the arrest of his nephew, the son of Justice Sec. Boying Remulla, in a buy-bust operation in Muntinlupa City. Remulla is in Geneva, Switzerland but will be back in the country tomorrow.
In a statement, Jonvic says his brother has pledged that he will not, in any way interfere, intervene, nor use any of his affiliations to influence the charges against his son.
"We would like to thank the PDEA for doing their job. We were never informed of their operation and they were correct in doing so. There should be no fear nor favor in the conduct of their duties," he said.
He added that should any of his family member try to influence the prosecution of the case, he would make sure to expose the matter. "We will not tolerate an abuse of power in any way," he said.
"Our family is devastated with these developments most especially my 87 year old mother. We thank everyone for their calls of concern but rest assured that we are on top of the situation and that we shall abide in accordance with the due process of law."
