EUTHANASIA: ‘THANK YOU. I LOVE YOU’
Mahigit 125 taon na ang natulungan ni Dr. Bert Keizer, 77, retiradong Dutch physician, pero emosyunal para sa kanya ang ginawa niyang couple’s euthanasia para sa kapwa lesbian at 50 taon nang nagsasama na sina Monique at Loes.
“The two women lay on a bed, holding hands. They both had a drip in their arm and a doctor at their side,” kuwento ni Keizer sa Agence France-Presse (AFP).
“They kissed, said ‘thank you’ and ‘I love you’. We looked at each other and said: ‘Are you ready girls?’. ‘Yes, let’s go,’ they replied. We injected the medication, a barbiturate, and they fell asleep immediately.”
Kabado raw si Keizer dahil “they have to fall unconscious at exactly the same time and you don’t want one to see the other die.”
“I can’t live without Monique,” sabi ni Loes sa isang TV documentary na umere bago isagawa ang euthanasia.
“And I depend on you,” sagot naman ni Monique. “So, let’s go together."
